So, I know that I radiate a lot of joy and confidence in my body right now in my life, but I didn’t always love my body. 

A while ago, I was a high school English Teacherand I worked very long hours and I felt really disconnected from my body. I had a really hard time with being over-weight for my frame. It felt so uncomfortable to sit or bend over, and one of my best assets, my legs, had saddlebags of fat behind them. And I didn’t even want to wear a bathing suit during that time in my life.
And it was really hard to change the situation because it felt so IMPOSSIBLE to motivate to exercise after a full day’s work. I was, what I call, “stuck in the rut of sitting on my butt.”

It all started when I went to this very special dance class and saw all these incredibly confident, sexy women–dancing–who looked hot in their bodies—they were hot not because they were super thin or had model- beautiful facesthey were hot because they were confident in themselves.
And the music in this dance class was irresistible and all I could think to myself is I WANT THIS! I want to look like this, I want to feel like this—I WANT THIS!

And the way that we get to a different body, we’ve all been trained, is through dieting and working out. But dieting and working out don’t work very well and people usually give up on them.
There is a really key reason that people give up on them! Do you know why?
The reason is summarized in these phrases that we all know– “no pain no gain” or “feel the burn.” It’s because we are taught that in order to lose weight, we need to suffer to do it.
Yes, suffer.
So unless you are a masochist (meaning someone who enjoys pain) then like most people you’re going to stop doing these workouts.
Because most people don’t want to sacrifice feeling good for looking good. And so, it totally makes sense that you stop the workouts or fail at the diet because you don’t want to suffer.
And that’s a good thing.
So, here is the fascinating thing I noticed about these women in this very special dance class I was in.
They weren’t sacrificing. They were happy. They weren’t suffering. They were ENJOYING themselves, they weren’t just working out, they were playing. AND they had HOT, fit, toned bodies.
The biggest problem with workouts is that you start doing them because you don’t like how your body is right nowand you want to look different; you want to feel better.
You’re creating an uphill battle with yourself that you just can’t win.
You can lose weight this way, but it’s a struggle and you’ll just gain the weight right back when you want to stop suffering.
However, happiness, the way I’m defining it, means peace and appreciation.
So if you love your body and enjoy the workout, you’re much more likely to keep it up, that makes sense, right? Andas you love your body, your body naturally will become the body you love.
You can’t get to it any other way, it has to come from loving and appreciating yourself exactly as you are, right now.
So you CAN reach all of your health, weight, attractiveness, and beauty goals–and the very first step is making peace with yourself exactly as you are right now.

Positive mirror time is really powerful.
Say you love your collarbones. Find dance tops that show off your collar bones and as you dance in the mirror, look at your collarbones and admire them. Say it’s your lips and beautiful smile. Put on some deep red lipgloss when you do your workout and enjoy how sexy your mouth looks when you are dancing and smiling and getting all hot and bothered from the workout.

When you are in Pleasure, or what I like to call Body Joy, you release nero-transmitters called endorphins— and yourbody feels light, happy, loved, loving and naturally high!
The best way to comfort yourself when you are in stress, is to get into PLEASURE, in ways other than eating.
And understanding how PLEASURE is the second main component in losing weight is essential for your sexy success!
And the thing about Pleasure, is that you need to schedule Pleasure into your life--if you just go about your day, trying to be a good person and checking things off your to- do items off your list, you can find yourself NOT having very much fun.Pleasure is not just going to happen, especially if you find yourself “stuck in the rut of sitting on your butt.”
You actually have to get out your daily to-do list or your calendar, and you have to block out time and schedule some PLEASURE!

Having lunch with friends, sitting in a hot tub, playing with your dog, reading in the sun, eating fresh fruit, getting a pedicure, gardening, singing?
It is essential to schedule time in every day of the week to do something that brings you pleasure.
